miraDry® (Underarm Sweat & Odour)
Permanent underarm sweat reduction with miraDry®
miraDry is a non-invasive treatment that uses controlled thermal energy to permanently reduce excessive underarm sweat and odour. Once treated, the targeted glands do not grow back.
Most patients notice a significant reduction after one treatment, although some choose a second for optimal results. miraDry can also permanently reduce underarm hair.
Treatment details:
-
miraDry® is a non-invasive treatment that uses precisely controlled thermal energy to target and permanently eliminate sweat and odour glands in the underarm. Once eliminated, these glands do not grow back.
Treat areas:
Underarms
-
Treatment length → Allow approximately 1.5-2.5 hours for your appointment, including preparation and treatment.
Comfort → Topical numbing cream is applied first, followed by local anesthetic administered by Dr. Kumar Shivdasani to thoroughly numb the underarm area. Once numb, most patients feel only gentle suction or pressure during the miraDry® treatment.
Results → Sweat reduction begins immediately after treatment. As initial swelling and tenderness settle over the following days and weeks, you’ll get a clearer sense of your final result. Many patients achieve their desired reduction after one treatment, while some choose a second treatment for optimal results.
Permanence → The sweat and odour glands targeted by miraDry® are permanently eliminated and do not grow back. Results vary from patient to patient.
-
Some swelling, tenderness, bruising, numbness, or sensitivity in the underarm area is common for several days after treatment. Most patients are able to return to regular daily activities right away, while strenuous exercise should generally wait a few days.
After treatment:
Apply towel-wrapped ice packs as needed to help reduce swelling.
Keep the underarm area clean and wash gently with mild soap.
Avoid shaving and applying deodorant or antiperspirant for the next few days.
Wear loose-fitting tops to minimize irritation.
Wait a few days before returning to strenuous exercise or activity.
-
Your comfort, confidence, and recovery matter to us. After your miraDry® treatment, you’ll have direct access to Dr. Kumar should any questions or concerns come up during your recovery.
