Hyaluronic acid filler is carefully placed to enhance volume, shape, definition, or hydration.
The Intent: To create balanced, natural-looking lips that complement your facial features, with attention to shape, symmetry, and proportion.

Your treatment begins with an assessment of your facial proportions, lip shape, and goals so filler can be placed thoroughly and conservatively.
Consultation → Approximately 30 minutes for new clients.
Treatment → Approximately 20 minutes, plus time for numbing and preparation.
Sensation → A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to help keep you comfortable. You may still feel brief pressure or a small pinch during injection.
Results → You’ll see an immediate change, although swelling can temporarily make the lips appear fuller at first. For larger changes, Dr. Kumar may recommend a gradual, staged approach over more than one appointment.
Some swelling or bruising is common after lip filler and typically improves over the following days. If you have an important event, plan your treatment well in advance.

Most people can return to their usual activities after treatment. Swelling, tenderness, redness, or bruising can occur and typically improve over the following days.
For the first 24-48 hours, we generally recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat, saunas, and activities that may increase swelling. You’ll receive personalized aftercare instructions following your treatment.
Common side effects may include temporary swelling, tenderness, bruising, redness, firmness, or unevenness while the filler settles.
As with any injectable treatment, less common complications can occur, including infection, allergic reaction, or vascular occlusion. Dr. Kumar will review risks, benefits, and what to watch for with you before treatment.

Every lip filler treatment includes a complimentary follow-up appointment approximately two weeks later. This allows Dr. Kumar to assess your results once swelling has settled, check that everything is healing as expected, and discuss any appropriate adjustments.

To help minimize bruising, avoid alcohol and non-prescription anti-inflammatory medications such as advil (ibuprofen) before your appointment, unless otherwise advised. Let Dr. Kumar know about any medications or supplements you take.
Please arrive with clean, makeup-free lips. If you have a history of cold sores, let us know before treatment.

Lip filler typically lasts around 6 to 12 months, although longetivity varies depending on the product used, the amount injected, your metabolism, and how your body responds to treatment.
Over time, hyaluronic acid filler is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body.

Most patients can return to their usual activities right away, but some swelling, tenderness, redness, or bruising is common after lip filler. Swelling is often most noticeable during the first few days and gradually improves.
If you have an important event, it’s a good idea to schedule your treatment at least two weeks beforehand to allow time for swelling and bruising to settle.
