Treatment details:

  • Dr. Kumar uses hyaluronic acid fillers to strategically restore volume, refine contours and support facial structure. By considering the underlying fat pads, bone structure and proportions of the face, treatment is designed to enhance overall balance rather than simply “fill” individual lines and folds.

    Treatment areas:

    • Temples

    • Cheeks / cheekbones

    • Under-eye hollows

    • Nasolabial folds

    • Lips

    • Chin

    • Jawline

    • Marionette lines

    • Treatment length → Approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on the areas treated.

    • Sensation → You may feel a brief pressure, pinching or tenderness during treatment.

    • Onset → Results are visible immediately, although swelling can temporarily affect the final appearance. Filler typically settles and integrates over the following 1-2 weeks.

    • Duration → Longevity varies depending on the product used, treatment areas and individual metabolism. Hyaluronic acid fillers commonly last approximately 6-18 months.

  • Most people can return to normal daily activities shortly after treatment. Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising can occur and may last several days. Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, saunas and alcohol for approximately 24-48 hours, or as directed by Dr. Kumar.

    Immediately following treatment

    Cold compresses may be used for comfort and swelling. Avoid unnecessary pressure or massage of the treated area unless specifically instructed by Dr. Kumar.

    Common side effects:

    • Swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection site

    • Mild tenderness or discomfort

    • Temporary firmness or small lumps

    Less common side effects:

    • Prolonged swelling or inflammation

    • Asymmetry or irregularity requiring assessment

    • Tyndall effect with overly superficial placement

    Rare but serious complications:

    • Vascular occlusion

    • Infection

    • Nodules or granulomas

  • Every treatment includes a complimentary 2-week follow-up with Dr. Kumar to review your results and ensure everything has settled as expected.

  • The duration varies depending on the type of filler used and the area treated. Typically, hyaluronic acid fillers last between 9 to 18 month.

    • Avoid blood-thinning medications (like aspirin or ibuprofen) and supplements (like vitamin E and fish oil) for a week before the procedure to minimize bruising.

    • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment. Inform your practitioner about any medical conditions or allergies.

  • Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if necessary. Other types of fillers may not be as easily reversible and will need to wear off naturally.
